While we can save many damaged or infected teeth, it is not always possible. When a tooth must be removed, we offer a comfortable, relaxing environment for tooth extractions for minimal pain or discomfort for our patients.

Tooth removal may sound painful, but in many cases, removing the diseased tooth can stop pain and discomfort. If a tooth root is broken below the gum line or the tooth is severely diseased, it can be painful. Removal of the tooth and nerves will stop the pain. The procedure can usually be performed in our office quickly – some molars may be slightly more difficult since they can have up to four roots. Local anesthesia can be used alone, but we do offer sedation options for those who prefer additional relaxation during the procedure.

Recovery from Tooth Removal

After we perform a tooth extraction, the site will need to heal. Our team will give instructions to help promote fast healing without any complications. After extraction, the site may be sore and tender for a few days as it heals. Most discomfort can be alleviated with over-the-counter medications, or pain medication may be prescribed.
