To take care of your teeth and your Invisalign aligners throughout the entire orthodontic process, you should do the following:

Brush After Meals

Invisalign trays need to be removed before you eat. After you’re done with your meal you should brush your teeth before placing your aligners back in.

Carrying a hygiene pack with you will make brushing your teeth less of a hassle through the day and while you’re on the go. Keep a toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash, and floss in a small pouch and have it readily accessible to you, everywhere you go.

Before Going To Bed

To be fully effective, your aligners need to be worn a minimum of 22 hours a day, meaning that you’ll need to wear them at night. Before falling asleep with your aligners, you need to stick with a daily hygiene routine.

Remove the aligners from your mouth and brush both the inside and outside of the trays with a soft-bristled toothbrush, a scent-free antibacterial soap, and rinse with lukewarm water. Rinse the trays thoroughly. Then brush your teeth, floss, and use mouthwash if you wish. Once you’re done with this process, you can place the aligners back in your mouth and call it a night.
